Quotes

For those who might enjoy seeing these, I am posting the quotes I have collected over the years on this page http://quotescollectedovertheyears.blogspot.com/

When a child first begins to stutter

If you notice your toddler stuttering on sounds, go to the web site for The Stuttering Foundation of America at www.stutteringhelp. org and click on "parents." This is the best source of information we found to help with stuttering. The knowledge we gained helped us with our own family as well as with several of our son's friends who stutter. It also helped us when meeting people who stutter. It is best to get this information while your child is a toddler. It is reassuring to have the information you need now rather than to be anxiously waiting and not knowing if your child needs help or not. The Stuttering Foundation has a "Risk Factors Chart" that is really helpful. You might find some of their publications and DVDs at your local library, too.
