No stuttering while talking to some or to a pet

Everyone who stutters will tell you that they are fine when talking to their pet, a doll or stuffed animal, or when by themselves. Most will have certain people they can talk with and rarely if ever stutter, while they stutter worse in the presence of an authority figure like a teacher or boss. Stuttering gets worse when you are under stress, anxious, or are more tense. If the person you are talking with is patient, relaxed, and shows no sign of disturbance with your speech, you are more apt to talk without much of a stutter.
