Today is International Stuttering Awareness Day. There are people all over the world who stutter. It is called "stammering" in some countries, but it is the same thing. Those who stutter need to know that they are not alone, that they can be as successful as anyone else, and that there is help. The Stuttering Foundation of America has helpful resources and lists of qualified speech therapists who are trained to work with those who stutter (some of them are former stutterers and know exactly what you are going through).
Parents, teachers, employers, friends, coworkers, and everyone who comes in contact with someone who stutters can find helpful information. We should all strive to make the world a better place for those who stutter!
